rolling back esxi build - configuration backup

when I rollback a esxi build, I noticed that my root password did not work anymore.

i think its because the password was different in the previous build than the current.

what do i do to keep the current password with the previous build?

do i do a configuration backup?

I guess, root password is not including to configuration backup. You have to reset password via applying host profile or any other solution.
