“reservation conflict”

We are seeing “reservation conflict” issues at the OS which we believe are causing Oracle Grid node evictions on a new install.

(new Oracle RAC Grid 11.2.0.4 install on RHEL 6.6 on 2 ESXi 5.5 VMs)

I’m trying to troubleshoot the issue – (somewhat) newbie alert .

VM admin says we “have the multi-writer flag in the .vmx file” and that we are patched current.

How can I determine which Disk in the VM is seen as device sd 3:0:5:0 at the OS?

How can I determine what build a VM is at and if patch(es) have been applied?

TIA,

Rich

Since you are setting up RAC you need multiwriter flag Setting Multi Writer Flag for Oracle RAC on vSphere without any downtime | Virtualize Business Criti...

One way to find based on the size if you multiple size disk.

I am sure the other way to find but i will suggest you to explore vim-cmd vmsvc/ option if you can get some help

It will display the Build number that you search in patches list in vmware portal like your host is 5.1 Update 3 and look for build.
