remote netdump not working correctly.

Hi All, I am having an issue getting remote netdump set-up correctly.

I have followed the following kb exactly.VMware KB: Troubleshooting the ESXi Dump Collector service in VMware vSphere 5.x

esxcli system coredump network get

   Enabled: true

   Host VNic: vmk0

Network Server IP: <reports correct ip>

   Network Server Port: 6500

esxcli system coredump network check

Verified the configured netdump server is running

# nc -z -w 1 -s <correct ip> -u <correct ip> 6500

Connection to <correct ip> port [udp/*] succeeded!

however nothing hits my server and the logs remove empty in %appdata%vmware\net dump collector service\data or \logs

Seems to be able to communicate fine it just can't pass the logs.

the server is just a physical 2008 r2 server no vmware installed firewall open to receive data on 6500 ports open correctly

any one had similar issues with this?

take a look at that

http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=103205...

and you can create an on demand panic to test it:

vsish -e set /reliability/crashMe/Panic 1
