"initializing scheduler" takes too long

I have installed ESXi 4.0. Everything works fine except that at the time of starting, the ESXi server freezes for about 10 minutes on a screen showing "initializing scheduler". After this, it continues normally.

The server is an IBM x3650M2. Any ideas why this server takes too long to initialize?... Thanks in advanced.

hi,

Please upgrade to latest BIOS and try booting. This will solve your issue.

Hi

Yeah I have exactly the same issue (on exactly the same servers) except it occoured only after updating ESXi on usb key(ibm supplied) to latest version. Also one machine tekes 30 minutes+ to get past this.

This may be a issue with updating to latest esxi/ firmware? (it semed to work fine on older versions)
