"failed to deploy ovf package"

Using ESXi 6.5.0, I'm trying to deploy an ovf package, but I'm getting the following error (even on images that previously worked): "failed to deploy ovf package", "error uploading [file] IO Error".

What IO error could this possibly be?! The status of the SSD is fine.

On selected datastore try to create a vanilla VM with 5 GB thick disk and see are you able to write on the detonation datastore or not.

Yes, I can create regular VMs just fine.

I've had this issue before and it was a corrupt OVA file. Have you tried re-downloading the ova?
