"Remove" a 'not responding' esx 3.5 host from vCenter?

I have an unused ESX 3.5 host that is not responding.

I want to rebuild this as an ESXi 4 server.

Rather than fixing the problem which I casued while disconnecting VMNICs, is there any problem with Removing this 3.5 host that is greyed out from vCenter and rebuilding it as an ESXi 4?

just right click "remove", that will un-register the host and remove the license from vCenter.

You should be able to do a disconnect and then remove.

You'll want to remember when you retire your last 4.1 host from vCenter 7 some day. Smiley Wink

Good point!

I'll mark it on the calendar for posterity.
