"Enter standby mode" grayed out

I'm setting up a new ESX 4.1 cluster with three Dell PowerEdge R810 servers.

The iDRAC6 Express is configured and the required info was entered in host configuration -> Hardware -> Power Management in vCenter. But "Enter Standby Mode" is still grayed out for all three servers. Still in testing so there is only one VM created on one of the physical servers - the other two physical servers are setup with ESX, Dell OMSA and the iDRAC but have no VMs running so it would be nice to put them in standby, not to mention eventually we will be creating an ESX cluster and using DPM, etc.

Suggestions on what I might have missed?

Hi,

Only hosts in clusters can go into Standby Mode.

Check out the KB1018147:

Thanks. Missed that. I had the steps reversed thinking I should test standby mode individually before adding the host to the cluster instead of the other way around.
