question about iSCSI SAN configuration guide

I think I am suffering from a conceptual misunderstanding of the SAN guide; I am hoping someone can help me out.'

On page 40 of the iscsi san configuration guide it gives an example connecting iscsi ports vmk1 and vmk2 to the software iSCSI adapter vmhba33.  however, when I look in my storage adapters list there is no vmhba# associated with it.  I already have vmhba numbers 33 thru 37 labled type "Block SCSI".  Most of them are due to a "Patsburg 6 Port SATA ACHI Controller".  Is this vmhba number just an example?  do I make up and assign a vmhba number or am I supposed to use one from a list?  Am I skipping some step not outlined in the document that would tell me the correct vmhba number?

thanks

Don

I have figured this out by simply enabling the  iSCSI Software Adapter (it was disabled by default).  As soon as it was enabled, it suddenly had a vmhba38 next to it.

thanks,
