I'm seeing the below msg on one of my ESXi 4.1 host. It has 2 CPU's and 6 cores per socket.
There are 4.25 virtual CPUs active per core on this host. The threshold value is 4
What do I need to change to get rid of that msg? if so, what would be the impact?
thanks.
ah... now I understand. Those are just general best practice guidelines. Also, you can adjust those values under Health--Properties.
No worries....
i've never seen that message on vCenter or ESX(i), where is it? It shoudn't impact anything, it's more of a best practice warning. Can you provide a screen shot, i'm curious as to the message.
I have seen these types of messages using RVTools, but....
Like Troy I have never seen this message either - there is nothing natively in ESXi or ESX that will cap the number of vCPU per core -
I'm seeing the msg in RVTools under vHealth.
