open port on the firewall

Dear All,

in my company we are using ESXI5, how ever RDP works fine on the Vmware machines in the host, when i change listening port of the RDP to different number the remote desktops stops working

so ESXI allows port 3389 thought the firewall, so when i change it  to let says 3565 or what so ever it stops working,

any suggestions please?

Even though ESXi 5 has a built-in firewall, this is only used to protect the VMkernel itself and does not block any traffic from and to the VMs. So the issue you are facing is most likely caused by a configuration issue with the RDP server/client or a firewall configuration issue on the RDP server.
