Hi, I have some hosts with an nvidia grid k1 graphic card installed. I have vsphere6 ENT + and I do not have horizon.
Whic kind of 3D graphics acceleration can I add to my VM?
vSGA, vDGA, GRID vGPU ?,
.
You can "add" them all to a virtual machine, the question is more of how you will utilize the improved graphics?
For compute workloads? (GP-GPU, HPC etc)
For improved user experience? If so what remoting protocol are you planning to use? Not all can utilize these kind of improved graphics capabilities.

Thanks Linjo.
what about RDP?
RDP protocol will not utilize 3D graphics, the RDP protocol is using its own virtual adapter.
The only way to use a GPU for end using in a plain vSphere environment is through the local console, but the console itself is quite laggy sometimes and the protocol VMware Remote Console uses isn't built for high end GPUs.
So the only way you would actually benefit from the GPU is with Horizon and PCoIP or using the GPU for high performance computing
Thanks. and what about RemoteFX ?
RemoteFX is a hyper-v feature only, according to microsoft
