not enough bandwidth

hi all,

i have 5 hosts in cluster with separate managent DvS and Guest traffic DvS.

currently in Guest DvS have one physical uplink of 25 G

i have two VMs and with VMXNET3 adapter, and checking bandwidth using iperf.

i found i am getting only average 1.74Gbits/Sec. how can i improve this speed.

Was that test out to a physical system?

How do the results compare if you run between 2 VMs on the same port group on the same host?

If you would like to see higher numbers

- Use UDP for testing rather than TCP

- Disable Windows(GuestOS) firewall on both sites

- If you have a Windows Guest. There are several KBs are out there about Network related performance problems

If we use iperf from a Linux based Guest from one Datacenter to the other we see 6-8Gbit/s on a 10G network.

Joerg
