msg.hbacommon.corruptredo (vmdk is corrupt)

Hi,

Virtual machine has been running smoothly for quite a while now, and suddenly I get a call at 7am that the machine is down.  I hop on our ESXi 4 box, and notice "msg.hbacommon.corruptredo:The redolog of fileserv-000003.vmdk has been detected to be corrupt. The virtual machine needs to be powered off. If the problem still persists, you need to discard the redolog."

I've tried rebooting, no avail.  I've looked around the forums and have things that are close, but nothing that is a fix specifically for just this to get this machine up and rolling again.  There is more than enough storage space on the LUN, and I've only got 3 snapshots.  Please help!

Hi Christopher,

Have you tried reserving all the memory for your VM's and then powering up? by doing that it wont create the large .vswp file.

Probably have seen this but if it appears stuck on an endless startup sequence check out http://communities.vmware.com/thread/75441
