i need to svmotion a mscs cluster vms to another lun. I first svmotions the vmdk files. then i svmotion the rdm disks. the rdm disks took like 1 sec to complete. so i guess it only moved the mapping file to the new lun but not the actual rdm move? the data on the rdm is still on the old lun?
Take a look at this KB: http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=100524...

like above, if you perform a svmotion it will become a vmdk rather than raw lun. additional steps would need to be take like cloning manually.
i was able to shutdown the passive mscs node. then move the vm to the destination lun.
But after I power it back on, I am not able to do a mscs failover. now the mapping file for both vms is in two places.
the active vm still uses the old destination of the rdm. while the passive one uses the new destination.
should i shutdown the active vm. but the failover might not work now
