mount for cdrom

Hi,

we are trying to mount cdrom on hypervisor esxi 4 but cdrom is not mounting.

we tried  to mount /dev/cdrom to mount point say to temp

the command we use is mount /dev/cdrom /temp it never mount always say bad adress

did tried mount /dev/cdrom also but in the fstab the mount point is not define for that so could not succeed.

can any body share where to look or what are the steps to get this done.

Thanks

hello and welcome to the forums.

Check too if cdrom is connected in edit setting os this virtual machine.

Try it -

Some Linux distributions use different device names or organize the /dev directory differently. If your CD-ROM drive is not /dev/cdrom or if the mount point for a CD-ROM is not /mnt/cdrom, you must modify the following commands to reflect the conventions used by your distribution.

mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom

cd /tmp
