monitoring ESXi via SSH

i need advise whether it's Ok to continuously monitor ESXi 4 and 5  via SSH  e,g every 5 mins?

commands which i want to run every 5 mins are  df and du

please advise.

Hello,

I guess this won't hurt but have you considered setting up SNMP traps or custom Alarm Actions to send out a mail once a datastore threshold has been exceeded, as I see these are filesystem-related queries?
