I really need help is any one can answer these questions.

1. Change the location of the 'Virtual Machines' directory

(/var/lib/vmware/Virtual Machines) to a directory on /home

(/home/Virtual Machines) where there is more disk space.

2. Change the currently installed virtual machine 'VM01' from NAT

networking to bridged networking, and add IP.

3. Create a new VM named 'VM02' using this premade appliance:

http://www.citadel.org/doku.php/installation:appliance and assign it

an IP.

4. Create a 3rd VM named 'VM03' and install CentOS 5.4 + cPanel using

the centos-cpanel-32bit.iso in the ISOs datastore and configure a

basic install of cPanel when completed. (Defaults are fine for

everything) Add the remaining 2 IP's to this machine (the 2nd can be

easily added during cPanel setup)

Hi Ziarzi,

I'm not sure I clearly understand your needs. If you look for some HOWTOs, here are a few advices.

1. Change the location of the 'Virtual Machines' directory (/var/lib/vmware/Virtual Machines) to a directory on /home (/home/Virtual Machines) where there is more disk space.

You can have a look at this kb on how to move a VM. By the way, "/var/lib/vmware/Virtual Machines" indicates that you use VMware Server and not ESX.

2. Change the currently installed virtual machine 'VM01' from NAT networking to bridged networking, and add IP.

Have a look at the User's manual of your VMware product. It usually consists in modifying the virtual machine network setting and changing its connection to the virtual network.

3. Create a new VM named 'VM02' using this premade appliance: and assign it an IP.

Depends on how your appliance is provided. It can be a set of files that you just need to deflate and register to your VMware product. It could also be an Open Virtualization Format virtual machine you need to import using OVF Tool.

4. Create a 3rd VM named 'VM03' and install CentOS 5.4 + cPanel using the centos-cpanel-32bit.iso in the ISOs datastore and configure a basic install of cPanel when completed. (Defaults are fine for everything) Add the remaining 2 IP's to this machine (the 2nd can be easily added during cPanel setup)

Create a new virtual machine with the necessary number of virtual network cards. Install the OS and then the application...

Hope it helps.

Regards

Franck
