mapped raw lun and iscsi connections

We have a unique situation where we have a single mapped raw lun taking up X connections on our SAN where X naturally equals the number of ESX hosts in the cluster.  While this isn't surprising, our SAN has some older members that are reaching a connection limit and the answer being given to me is to break this cluster using the mapped raw lun.  Can I limit which hosts this VM can run on and effectively reduce that connection count?

You can limit which VMs the hosts run on by making the RDM/datastore unavailable to the hosts you dont want it to execute on.

DRS/vMotion will recognize this and not migrate the VMs to those hosts.

Do I think this is a good idea?  No - its a mgmt confusion nightmare Smiley Happy  But it is doable.
