ESXi have no limits. If youre searching for something with limits go and use hyper-v. Smiley Wink

Ok... youre referring to the free vSphere Hypervisor against the vSphere ESXi Editions right?

In short

- Max. 8 vCPU per VM

- no vTPM

- no/limited API Access which means no easy Backup

Iam sure VMware have  this documented somewhere on vmware.com. Take notice that you need to download the "free" license Key for the vSphere Hypervisor because it will run in the 60 Day Trial/Eval mode after installation.

Hello,

Are not limitations as much as are compatibility, for that use the VMware Compatibility Guide to check Hardware/Software compatibility: VMware Compatibility Guide - System Search .

And also there is a configuration maximums for each version of VMware products, you can check them from the following:  https://configmax.vmware.com/guest

Please consider marking this answer "CORRECT" or "Helpful" if you think your question have been answered correctly.

Yes, you can certainly have 2 and more VM's in the free ESXi.

vCenter is the icing on the cake, and that's when you move up from the free license.

The costs for that returns back in the time you save.
