lacp supported now in vsphere 5.1?

hi all,

i tried doing lacp on my cisco switch 3750 putting lacp on (channel-group xx mode active) vpshere 5.1/esx 5.1, it didn't work.  i have lacp on my openfiler two nic i can see the policy that's it's working.  when i tried in on my esx5.1 my switches dvport it put (I) status, which is single mode, meaning it doesn't work it's suppose to be (P).  my esx5.1 is currently patched to the latest.  my dvport or standard port will still work with compatible link aggregate which is channel-group xx active on and  ip hashing. My quad nic is Intel 82576 Gigabit.

any comment you may add is highly appreciated.

thanks.

  • LACP settings do not exist in host profiles

That the feature "Host profiles" does not support setting LACP. Host profiles supports setting most host specific configuration like ordinary vSwitch portgroups and similar.

  • LACP between two nested ESXi hosts is not possible

That you can not use LACP from a physical ESXi to an ESXi running as a VM on that host ("nested" ESXi).

For some other details on LACP on 5.1 you could also see this: http://rickardnobel.se/lacp-and-esxi-5-1
