I am new to running vmware esxi so sorry for what might be a simple question. I have a lab setup that I am trying to run patches on. given that it's a lab i don't have access to the update manager so it seems the only way to install patches in through ssh. I am following this guys post http://www.itadmintools.com/2012/02/howto-patch-vmware-vsphere-esxi-50-free.html which looks to be good but I am running into an error when trying to install the first patch (ESXi500-201109001.zip).
The error is:
[InstallationError]
[Errno 5] Input/output error
vibs = VMware_bootbank_esx-base_5.0.0-0.3.474610
Please refer to the log file for more details.
and I am not even sure where "the log file" would be to take a look at it to see if it is any help.
