issues installing vmware esxi 5.5

Hi,

I am trying to install the vmware esxi 5.5 on a laptop that has an ethernet adapter JMicron jmc250, but before the installation I receive an error that vmware is not recognizing any network adapter.

I enter in the console ( Alt + F1) and I ran “lspci –v | more” and I see this Ethernet adapter.

Does anyone has the driver for this adapter?

Alternatively, any another solution?

Thanks

Lucas

The hardware that ESXi supports is selective - your best bet would be to create a nested environment by installung an OS on the laptop and then install VMware Player or Workstation and install ESXi on a VM

Hi lucasmv,

Its better you install ESXi on workstation or any other virtual \ization platform available with you.

ESXi supports selected hardware only, please check ESXi compatibility matrix for the same.

You'll be able to run ESXi 5.5 on workstation without any issues.

Thanks and Regards,
