issue esx 4.0U1 & HP firmware 8.70

hi,

i just installed an HP BL490 with firmwares of CD 8.70 and when i try to install ESX 4.0U1 it can't find the FLEX10 lan adapters, older 890 blades still on 8.50 have no issue. has anyone seen this issue before? my OA says i need to upgrade the power management controller but since this very possibly would break my network config on ESX i'm reluctant to do so with 8.70

any insight would be helpfull

The 8.70 CD doesn't show as supported for ESX(i). You should stick with the firmware updates specific to your platform and OS. The firmware updates fix issues with specific OS's. You can regress at least some of the firmware.
