I need to isolate a server but need 2 way commucation with specific servers.
what is the best way to do this?
say I gave the server 192.168.10.20 address
but it need commucation with 2 other servers in
another vlan. what do i do?
any idea?
First of all check that your router is able to make VLAN. Also, if you have layer 2 equipment, I would definitely make use of VLAN's to also segregate each network.
OPTION 1:
Add more NICs to the host. Make sure the IP blocks on the NIC cards are different.
If you use 192.168.0.x/24 on the first
192.168.1.x/24 on the second
192.168.2.x/24 on the third.
Next you will likely have to use static IP addresses to all NICs rather than DHCP on the host.
OPTION 2:
Assign multiple IP addresses to the same adapter on one computer. Microsoft O/S support this configuration as an advanced IP addressing option. you don’t need to have a physical adapter attached to each IP. As long as it is on the same subnet it can be used, but if your two networks are different subnets, not so much.

Network Interface Configuration for Multihomed
Two Static IP's, one NIC/Computer
