The feature needs to be enabled before the VM is powered on, although no reboot is needed to increase vRAM on the fly on a supported guest OS.

But i configured this in my vm and as soon as it added it is not showing the updated memory and this is showing the updated status only after reboot.

What is the guest OS you are trying to configure hot-add? This post from Jason Boche is pretty hepful, although not exhaustive.

Hi RanjnaAggarwal,

As I seen your screen shot, you're using Windows. According to my experience, at least Wndows 2008 or R2 doesn't support cpu hot add.

And also, there is limitation of maximum memory size by those edition.

Check if your windows server edition supports the amount of memory you need.
