installing HP nc365t NIC in ESXi 4.0

Hi

I am trying to setup my server to use a HP nc365t quad port NIC.. but I am lost.

The server is a HP ml330 g6.

The BIOS detects the NIC with no problem, but esxi does not.

When I installed esxi I was not prompted to install any custom drivers, or anything similar..

Also, I haven't been able to find any driver for that particular NIC...

Can someone point me in the right direction.

You may want to check http://www.vmware.com/download/vsphere/drivers_tools.html for the driver for that NIC.  Also check the HCL's notes on this NIC http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php?action=search&deviceCategory=io&productId=1...

if it's not shown in the official list, then you will need to check on the whitebox list for cheaper alternative:

If the host has other NICs that work then you can use vishostupdate from the vCLI to apply the driver package to the host.  Otherwise you can create a custom install image with an oem.tgz file or using vibddi from the autodeploy VMware labs project.

Hi All.

Thanks for all your answers..

I ended up fixing my problem by following this simple guide:
