iSCSI LUN lost VMFS partition

Hi All,

I'm running VMs on ESX4i from an iSCSI storage (QNAP). I had to switch off the iSCSI storage, but before doing so I switched off all the VMs properly.

My problem is that ESX does not find the storage automatically (even with re-scan Storage Adapter and also re-scan Storage). The partition seem to have lost its VMFS properties (# fdisk -l🙂

Disk /dev/disks/t10.15E414050000000000000000100000002004E41000000900: 644.2 GB, 644245094400 bytes

255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 78325 cylinders

*Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes*

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System

I removed the signature checks performed by ESX but it does not change anything (the Storage adapter is found but when I try to add the LUN ESX wants to format it).

Do you know how I could read the data (VMs) stored onto this iSCSI LUN? Is there any way to mount it manually and re-assigning it the right type (fb - VMFS)?

Thank you very much for your help.

Bastien
