how to attend VCP certification in vSphere

Hi,

How to attend VCP certification in vSphere4 ?, I got enough experience in vSphere4 virtualization, so can I go & directly attend an exam for vSphere4, & is there course material link for exam available ? or there any chapter for examination ?

You need to meet the requirements for the VCP4 certification as outlined here: http://mylearn.vmware.com/portals/certification/

There are four possible paths to achieve VCP4

  1. If you are NEW to VMware

  2. If you are currently a VCP3

  3. If you are currently a VCP2

    • VCP2s who have not upgraded are required to attend the VMware
      vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage; VMware vSphere: Fast Track OR
      VMware vSphere: Troubleshooting course

    • Take and pass the VCP4 exam.

  4. If you are not a VCP3, but have attended one of the prerequisite
    classes (VI3: Install & Configure; VI3: Deploy Secure & Analyze;
    or VI3: Fast Track).

    • Attend the VMware vSphere4: What’s New two day instructor-led
      course.

    • Take and pass the VCP4 Exam.

Without having the training as outlined above, you won't meet the requirements for becoming a VCP. Just taking the exam when you think you have enough experience isn't enough. I would also highly recommend using the resources for the VCP found on testking.com... I used those resources to prep for about a week before my exam. It made the exam a lot easier than it would have been otherwise. Go through the practice and virtual exams many times. The more you do, the better prepared you will be.
