how to add a disk to ESXi 7

I have several drives (not nfs or san) in a chasis.  How do I get these drives into a datastore for use?

A datastore is nothing else than a partition that's formatted with VMware's VMFS file system.

In case the disks are connected to a supported RAID controller, you may first need to create a RAID set with the disks, and then create logical volume(s) that will be presented to the operating system (ESXi in this case). Once the volumes are recognized by ESXi, you can then create datastores on them.
