Dear all
Hi
i have a question about coredump now i want to know if i had a coredump can myself read it or have to send for vmware support team for troubleshoot ??
BR
core dump mostly occurred during PSOD , you can read it.
vmkernel-zdump
file in the /root/
or /var/core/
directory:# ls /root/vmkernel* /var/core/vmkernel*
/var/core/vmkernel-zdump-073108.09.16.1
vmkdump
or esxcfg-dumppart
utility to extract the log. For example:# vmkdump -l /var/core/vmkernel-zdump-073108.09.16.1
created file vmkernel-log.1
You can read vmkernel-log.1 in notepad++
i use esxi 6.5 my esxi host hasn not been restrted untill now PSOD but in /var/core there is 3 file with name sfcb-smx-zdump.001 ,sfcb-smx-zdump.002 , sfcb-smx-zdump.003
now when run
esxcfg-dumppart -L /var/core/sfcb-smx-zdump.00
Error running command. open syscall failed: open syscall failed: Unable to open path: /var/core/sfcb-smx-zdump.00: No such file or directory
now how can read this core dump what do i have to do ??????
and vmkdump command return
-sh: vmkdump: not found

Hello Baber,
That is a known issue with 6.5. Please find the below VMware KB article. This is an SFCB process on the ESXi host which is crashing not psod. Var/core holds all the crash dumps including vmkernel, vpxa, hostd etc. The dumps which are seeing is related to sfcb
Thanks,
MS
