hostd log- what needs to check

Hi,

Can someone help out here, what error needs to check in hostd lo.

or there any websites to read article on hostd logs.

Thanks for quick reply.

Actually we have issue with one of our cluster in VC...VMs comes out of Resource pools automatically......

I've seen all settings everthing is fine....even I've filed support reqest with VMware support. .

Appreciate your help....

Hostd keeps tracks of all the tasks initiated by hostd service. What you could do here is check the hostd.log files and grep for the VM name and you would get to know the sequence of events that have occurred. If you don't find enough information you may consider increasing the logging level, see http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1004795 for more information. Increasing the logging level would cause you root file system to fill fast so monitor the disk update using # df -h.

You are on the right track, Im sure you would get some information from the hostd logs, if possible upload them and even I will take a look at it.
