We are configuring new cluster with three hosts.

The cluster will be configured with HA , DRS and VLANs.

Do you think is necessary to use dvswtich and dvports?

is it mandatory to use distributed ports and swtiches with ha, drs and vlan?

Thanks in avanced.

Hi,

It's not mandatory to use vDS (Distributed Virtual Switch).

But if you have the Enterprise Plus licensense, better to use vDS. Because it has lot advanced features compared to vSS.

For more details about vDS - http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/VMware-vNetwork-Distributed-Switch-DS-EN.pdf
