Hello,
I have a small problem in one of my clusters.
Long story short, I have some guests that use an iso to boot the OS. For an unkown reason, when those guests are on a specific host in my cluster, the iso isn't mount on the power on process. That said iso is on a datastore shared by the cluster. Also, once the guest are power on, I'm able to manually map the iso from the datastore and boot that vm.
Any idea why that host wouldn't map iso's on guest power on process?
Did you take a look at the VM's vmware.log after a failed boot on that specific host, to see whether this contains any hints about this issue.

that "too many users" message is weird, is the iso also connected to other vms?
Was there ever a resolution to this problem? I am getting the same message..Thanks
for some reason, they created a 2nd iso in the same folder and it fixed the issue.
For the question is there other vms connected to this iso yes about 50 vms are booting from this image. it's only a boot loader to gain access to a PVS server.
Was the second ISO just a copy of the original and did they actually do something with the second iso?
In my case as well the iso is just a bootloader to gain access to a PVS server. We are not there yet but are expecting to boot potentially thousands of VDI guests and if there is a limitation to number of machines that can access an ISO via the virtual CD-ROM will will need to understand that. Thanks for your responses so far...
They generated a new one... the size of them is different. They then pointed the vms that wasn't booting on that iso.
In my case it's to boot XenApp servers.
