fiber card in esxi

Hi experts

I have an ESXI 5.5.2 host that is detecting my fiber card as a fiber channel storage adapter. Is there a way I can use it for networking instead?

I have this guy:

Thanks

Unfortunately you cannot use that for networking. It is being presented to VMware as a storage adapter because it's an HBA (host bus adapter). While that card requires the use of fiber, it's only for storage traffic via 8gb, 4gb or 2gb connectivity back to a fibre channel switch.

I am assuming you want to do 10GB network connectivity back to a 10GB switch, like a Cisco Nexus? If you can comment more on what you're trying to do, I'm sure we can assist Smiley Happy.
