esxi 8 Free registration

Hi,

I have upgraded the Free ESXi 7.0.3 to ESXi 8. The new v8 now requires a new license ; my system is now in evaluation.

My current VM Connect account says "You either are not entitled or do not have permissions to download this product."

In the registration page (I tried registering for a new account), I also got stuck at the Zip Code entry ; the Form doesnt recognize the zip numeric codes at all.

Any advice appreciated ; rgds.

Hello.
The license management section is only for paid licenses.
If you registered for a free license, your license will be in that same link in the license & download section.

https://customerconnect.vmware.com/en/evalcenter?p=free-esxi8

Please be patient if it has not been generated yet, as there was a lot of demand to generate VMware licenses.

OK,I just read that the license 8 registration is broken as of now ...

As of 01 Nov 22, the registration is still not working.
I upgraded from the latest free ESXI7 to 8 and get the same error.

Any update on this issue?  I still get the failure but I notice the banner at the top of the page saying VMware are aware of the issue is now gone.  Has it been supposedly fixed?  If so, I still have the problem.

Try to reset evaluation, I dont know if it works in esxi 8, but just try, till registration is fixed. 

I would do this 😉

I just checked one more time and this time a license was generated.  Maybe all is now fixed.

@peterf99 You received "Unable to process your request. Please try again later." in the past and now visiting the page does not present the error?
Or you just now registered?
Because for me, the message "Unable to process your request. Please try again later." is still present.

latyer edit: 4 refreshes later and error went away and I can get my license.

Hello.
The problem with the generation of free licenses is solved, but they are being processed according to the age of the registration, you have to be patient.
Please log in again after a few days

It is still not working as of now, both  with new or existing registration account.
And I always get the ZIP Code error, irregardless of which country I input.

Has this issue been resolve I can no longer get my license key for esxi 7 and I had it before 8 came out, in addition I can not register for 8.

hello,

i cant agree. registration is not fixed. either esxi7 or esxi8. when i want to access license management (https://customerconnect.vmware.com/license-management) i got following message:

 

We’re sorry.

Your account doesn’t have permission to access this page. If you believe this is a mistake, please try again later.

Hi, I cannot access this properly.  I am trying to get the esxi 8 for personal use, but all I get is a timed trial to 8 that ends in 60-days

how do I access the license generator then?
