esxi 4.0 Win svr 2008 64bit issue

Hi,

I have currently installed esxi on a dell desktop called gx520 successfully.

I currently trying to create a virtual machine windows server 2008 r2 64bit and I get the below error 0xc000035a.

I was advised to enable Vt in bios but I don't see it in bios but I know the processor is compatible to VT (intel pentium 4 HT E64T processor )

Do you have any suggestions how to make this work?

Try the compataibility tool and article:

Maybe a BIOS update on the motherboard would give you more options too, I know some manufactures have removed the option to enable these things for some reason!

It probably won't be called "Intel-VT" in the BIOS. If it is compatible it will probably just be referred to as Virtualization or Virtualization Technology. Look under the processor options for anything related to virtualization. It is almost always turned off by default in the BIOS.

The Dell GX520 does not support both 64Bit (EM64T) and virtualization technology (VT).

The model I looked at only supported EM64T 64 bit technology.
