what is the reclaimable unit number to use when using esxcli storage vmfs unmap?

is that different per storage provider?

- 200 MB for 1 MB block VMFS3 / VMFS5

as you see, this depends upon VMFS file system version and block size. Since VMFS 5 onward we have only 1 MB block size, the default reclamable-unit number is 200 MB.

but at the same time, we also have lines documented saying "some array vendors may suggest a larger or smaller value depending on how the array handles the SCSI UNMAP command." so yes, better to refer storage vendor documentation/recommendations as well before you go about running the command.

please refer following KB for more information.
