esx 4.1 iSCSI, where is that disk?

Hello,

I have a IOMEGA Storcenter NAS. I've created 2 iSCSI drives there, PART1 and PART2.

My goal is to connect these drives by using my ESX4.1 .

The problem is that altough on the iscsi static discovery page the both drives (part1 and part2) are listed, when I attempt to connect Storage>> Add Storge,  only one of these drives can be detect, the other one can not be detect.

Do you have any ideas?

With fdisk -l you see both disks?

No. Just only the disk which was be able to be mounted one is there.

Configration>>Storage>>Devices >>> Select "EMC iSCSI Disk (naa.5000144f2baa2c24)" >> Right Click "Manage Paths"  --->> My both LUNs are shown there.

When I disable disk1, disk2 is being mounted but disk1 is lost.

When I disable disk2, disk1 is being mounted but disk2 is lost.

I want the both disks mounted. Maybe; Is there a multipathing problem?

As both LUNs appear to have the same naa ID it looks like your ESX host believes they are two paths to the same disk.

When the ESX host detects a LUN it does a number of EVPD queries to try to identify the LUN.

It looks like its getting the same result for both LUNs when querying them.

After doing a rescan is there any mention of snapshot LUNs being detected in the messages or vmkernel files?

I'd also have a look at the array management interface and verify that both LUNs have different LUN IDs.

I've checked the naa IDs and you're right, they have the same naa IDs...

After doing a rescan, nothing is detected.

Only the LUN which was selected as "preffered" under FIXED Path is mounted.

Well, I think you're at the right point. How can I change LUN IDs ?

Is "array management interface" my storage management interface? If yes, my storage is an entry level SATA storage "Iomega StorCenter ix4-200d". Iomega StorCenter ix4-200d doesn't has a an interface to change LUN IDs...

You're a smart guy!

I've called Iomega and explained the situation, asked them how to change LUN IDs (can not be changed)...

They've approved that the problem is related with their latest firmware. Unfortunately the device firmware can not be downgraded.

In order to fix problem, they're going to publish a new firmware soon.
