distributed switch tips

Hi guys...

I am just starting a new vsphere cluster , on 3.5 i used to have 6 nics with the following configuration

2 nics in channel for service console(tagged vlan A) and vmkernel (tagged vlan B)

4 nics in channel for production (4 tagged vlans)

i want to use distributed switch , but didnt find on the documentation best pratices for that , which configuration would fit the best in my case? is it a good idea to use distributed switch for service console/vmkernel?

can someone give me some tips?

I would look at using a Hybrid Approach where you put your Service Console and VMKernel into Standard vSwitches and put the VM traffic into Distributed vSwitch(es). This so the ease of reaching your hosts if your VCenter goes down for some reason. Have a look at this whitepaper (below0 and also Duncan Eppings blog about the subject:
