different processor speeds

The VI client of ESX5i is reporting the processor model as E5630 @2.53GHz but processor speed is showing as 1.6GHz .It is a dell R 510 machine with BIOS version 1.5.3. What is the actual speed ?  and why it is showing different speeds ? Is there any logic or  just a restriction from BIOS side ? Any replies will be appreciated

You may have low power settings configured in the BIOS, change them in the setup.

Also look on the host in configuration / power managment, you will see the settings for the processors in there, you can select properties to change them.

I always set mine for high performance in both settings.
