customizaion temmplate not working

i have a vm create from a window 2008 r2 template. I am using a customization spec in vcenter. When i shutdown the vm convert to template and deploy a vm from this template, the vm nexver gets customized or reboots.

But If I use another template, it works.

A few things to check:

1. Make sure the Guest OS type for the Template is "Windows Server 2008 R2" rather than simply "Windows Server 2008" - R2 sysprep may have subtle differences from the original 2008 OS release.
2. Make sure VMware Tools is installed and starts up in the base template when powered on.
3. Alternatively - are you sure its not going through reboots?  It could simply be that the OS has run out of sysprep Re-Arms - in this case the OS would sort of customise but will end up in a mess.
