could not able to VM from vcenter4 from the windows 7

Unable to login to the VM running on esx4. I'm using vcenter4.0 to create that machine. I can login from to it remotely by W2k3/w2k8 but unable to login from windows7. Does ;windows7 supports vcenter4.0

Hello naren...

We need more info about this issue. You can access by RDP with IP?

The error report a DNS resolution issue. The W7 is in domain?

I´ll wait your info

I believe that you have some sort of DNS / Naming issue.

you are creat8ing a connection by hostname (I presume) but when you connect to the VM, the RDP session identifies the hostname of theat VM as being different to the name you specified.

Try log onto the VM and run IPconfig to get an IP address, then from your Windows 7 machine that you are trying to create a connection, run ping <vmname>

If the 2 IPs are mismatched . .you have found your problem.

Also, try creating your RDP session to the VM using the IP address of the VM and see if you get the same error.

Good luck

One day I will virtualise myself . . .

looks like some related to DNS, could you click right your connect and click repair. this will clear all the cache and etc. another way is to enter via IP address?
