I just started upgrade proces of VMware vSphere 6.7.0 to 7.0.3.
We have a latest vcenter release – 7.0.3 build – 20150588
I started upgrade on the 8x DELL FC630 nodes. The upgrade process is:
• Backup configuration of esx node
• Disable boot from the SD cards
• Install same version of ESXi, which is on the SD card to the SSD disks - VMware ESXi, 6.7.0, 17167734 ( DELL customized iso)
• Restore configuration
• Update esxi node from VMware ESXi, 6.7.0, 17167734 ( DELL customized iso) to the VMware ESXi, 7.0.3, 20036589 ( DELL customized iso) via Lifecycle manager in vCenter
Now we are in the situation, where are 4x nodes on 7.0.3, 20036589 ( DELL customized iso) and 4x nodes on the 6.7.0, 17167734 ( DELL customized iso)
I try describe the problem:
• VM „XXX“ is on host with VMware ESXi, 7.0.3, 20036589
• I take a snapshot and get alarm with snapshot consolidation
• If we start the consolidation, the consolidation finishes but nothing happens, the alarm is still on
• We will move the VM to a host with VMware ESXi, 6.7.0, 17167734
• Let's start the consolidation - so it will finish fine
• The consolidation alarm disappears.
• The VM is fine
any advices ?
