change SAN network speed on hardware

I am looking to change the SAN network speed on two paths(out of 4) in my HP C7000 enclosure. The speed will be changed from 4GB to 8GB. What effect will this have on the hosts/LUNS. We use round robin path selection.

Will this cause a short outage on some paths, if they are using the 4GB paths?

Yes, you can always disable the relevant paths in the VI client before doing the maintenance. Even if no downtime is anticipated this is worth doing, providing you have other available paths.
