cant install esxi 5.0 on a IBM x3650 M4 server local disk not found

hi to all i was installing ESXi 5.0 on a IBM x3650 M4 in selecting the disk to install my hypervisor there is no local storage of the server found.

i check the disk in the bios and the configuration of my raid array(raid1) and its in optimal state. but when i install ESXi 5.0 u1 and the lower version ESXi 4.1 u2 its just working fine and i can select the local disk as usual.

The ESXi 5.0 installer was not the problem cause i use 3 installer and all are working in other server. expect IBM x3650 M4

has anyone encounter the same problem..

it just so happaned that the storage (IBM DS3200) im going to connect in this server supported only up to ESXi 5.0 and Not ESXi 5.0 u1 upon checking in vmware compatiblity

try the ibm vmware iso

you would have to get it from their site

http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/x/os/vmware/esxi/

I had the same problem, you need to use the esxi 5.0u1 installation CD.

Just try the newest one avaible from vmware.

My M4 Server did not get a Raid Controller Battery installed, and the IBM Custom Image was showing it as critical.

The vmware Image is showing the controller as ok.

Edit: Sorry, didn't saw the note with the DS3000. If the IBM CD is not working, you can try to load the raid controller driver with the driver cd...
