cannot login to esxi host with AD cred

I added my host to a domain. It joined successfully . I also added my domain account to the administrator role on the esxi host but I cannot login to the esxi host with my domain creds

any idea?

What does it say in the event logs after you try to log in? It should give you an indication why its failed.
Specifically

/var/log/auth.log

it just says cannot login domain\user@x.x.x.x

Try both of login pattern: Domain\user .... user@Domain

Also, check the DNS settings of your ESXi host again. If it's possible  try to connect to the domain with another DC exists on your network ...

You added your account to the administrator role?

If your Host joined the AD you have to create a "ESX Admins"  User Group and your AD account needs to become a member of that Group.  Thats it.
