can I install esxi 4.1 if my laptop has Intel Core i7-2630QM processor

Hi,

can I install esxi 4.1 if my laptop has  Intel Core i7-2630QM  processor.

I checked on intel webpage and found following:

Intel® Virtualization Technology (VT-x)                          -- YES              

Intel® Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O (VT-d)   -- NO

will I still be able to install esxi 4.1?

Hi!, you can install ESXi in your PC if the hardware are approved.. please check this link.. if you find all hardware in HCL ESXi install.

You could try it. However, there's more than just the CPU that matters. Unless ESXi recognizes your disk controller as well as the NIC you are out of luck.
