Hi all,

We have 4 ESXI servers/hosts each managed individually through VMware Vsphere client. I can successfully log into 3 of my hosts through Vsphere client, but cannot connect to one of the host and getting the error call "ServiceInstance.RetrieveContent" for object "ServiceInstance" on Server "X.X.X.X" failed. I can manage to ping the IP of that host, but cannot login through vpshere client.

Please Help.

Have you tried to restart management agent of the host , if not please try and check if you are able to connect to host directly .

I am kind of new to vmware, how to restart management agent? is it through SSH(putty) ? I am able to take putty session of that host. esxcli command works on it. But when i try any vmware commands  it doesnt work. It works on other hosts but not this host.

These hosts are managed using VRTX chassis management controller. should i restart from there??
