I am getting a black bootup screen in windows 2003 and nothing is happening. no status bar. any idea whats going on?
this is a vm on vm hardware version 4. I migrated it from a esx 5.0 host to a 5.1 host. now is is not booting and stuck on black screen
The first step is to find out whether this is host or guest related. Please take a look at the VM's vmware.log (or attach it to a reply post) to see whether this contains any hints.

Also try to boot into safemode or boot in "Last Good known confguration"
