auto start vm problem in cluster

Hello All;

On my test platform, I've an esxi 5.1 ha-drs enabled cluster.

I enable and set vm auto/start pm vcenter or on esxi itself but the system disables the auto start settings for a while later  or after restart. So the vm's don't auto-start when esxi starts.

Should I do something else to auto-start virtual machines or what must I check?

I'm afraid there's not much you can do, because auto start/stop is not supported in a cluster.

As noted above you can not use the Auto-start feature together with HA in the cluster. However, for which reason do you want to use the auto-start of VM, or more, in which situations? Do you regularly shut down all ESXi hosts or is to use in cases of unexpetected failures?
